It’s pretty amazing when you pick up the Blizzard Zero G 105 skis. It’s like lifting the milk jug thinking it’s full when it’s not. Your hands seem to go up all by themselves, and I think the Zero G moniker is a fantastically accurate one. When you lift them up, it’s like they defy gravity. For uphill skiing, this is an amazing benefit. Obviously, you don’t want to be lugging heavy boards up a mountain, and this is where the Zero G 105 really shines. But uphill is only half the battle, you’ve still got to get down. Those heavy sticks that you carried up the hill will certainly suffice on the downhill, but it’s the overall experience that most skiers are after. Fortunately, Blizzard has solved both possibilities with its Carbon Drive 2.0 construction. Starting with a light Paulownia wood core, Blizzard adds a 3D carbon fiber frame that reduces weight while adding stiffness. For uphills, the skis glide effortlessly, and on the downhills, the Zero G 105 floats and rips with the best of them. With that 105 mm waist, these skis will float and stay on top of pretty much any and all snow conditions. Adding to that float is the rocker profile, consisting of tip and tail rocker with a flat underfoot area. This gives the skis an extra-smooth feeling no matter how deep or choppy the snow. For advanced and expert backcountry and touring skiers, the Blizzard Zero G 105 skis are a fantastic choice.
BEST USE – The Blizzard 105 was designed as a purpose-built touring ski that can also tackle the resort groomers; thanks to Carbon Drive 2.0 and a customized shape for true backcountry adventure, the ski feels right at home on the skin track
GREAT CONSTRUCTION – Carbon Drive 2.0 paired with an ultra-light paulownia woodcore ensure efficiency on the skin track, while maintaining strength, a solid edge grip and a stable feel for the descent
CARBON REINFORCEMENT – Two edge to edge layers of bi-directional carbon fiber are positioned in the binding mounting areas to improve binding retention and torsional strength
NEW ZERO G – Longer radius sidecut of the skis is more forgiving and less catchy, especially in variable snow; 3D shape and new carbon fiber inlayed glass fiberglass make them lightweight yet strong
FEATURES – 105mm width is the king of the Zero G line, perfect for soft and variable snow; less Carbon Drive coverage and shorter sidewalls, giving the ski a slightly more rounded flex and making turn initiation more reliable in variable snow
